Hot Dip Galvanizers Annual Golf Day
The Association's Golf Day was held on Thursday the 10th of March and players were again blessed with glorious sunny weather. With 136 players booked it was the largest field ever experienced since the start of the annual tournament.
The winner's of the 2011 Golf Day, based on a count out with a score of 60 was the team from Metsep, consisting of Ken Oosthuizen, Riaan de Beer and Mark Wenn.
With only three teams returning the Pink Lady, sponsored by Bulldog Projects; the team from Supergalv were triumphant in securing the win. Well done to Tat Greyvenstein, Philip Botha, Johan de Villiers and Brian Watson!
The winner of the nearest the pin was Barry Hodgson and Deejee Swanepoel was awarded the longest drive with a distance of 314m. Both prizes were sponsored by Robor Galvanizers.
With a score of 60, the team from Strutfast, consisting of Peet, Tommy, Corne and Tony walked away with second prize.
One of the Robor teams achieved third place with a score of 59. Well done to Gordon Gilmer, Alan Oswald, Barry Hodgson and Barnie Stoop.
In fourth place, again based on a count out, a second team from Robor Galvanizers, took the honours. This is a team which is often in contention for first place! Our congratulations or commiserations perhaps to Nico Schoeman, Braam Beukes, Abri Barnard and Steve van Zyl.
In fifth place, with a score of 58, was the team from Bulldog Projects, consisting of Mike Book, Craig Fraser, Mike Simpson and Armand Labuschagne.
And finally, the team awarded the longest day, with a score of 43, hopefully don't feel that this game is called golf because all the other four letter words were taken, is the Zincor team – Johan Meyer, Neels Labuschagne, Ian Jennings and Harold van Rooyen.
