This one day workshop has been designed to provide delegates with an understanding of different environments, the more common forms of corrosion and a range of metallic coatings; with the emphasis on hot dip galvanizing and its service life performance in the various environments.
In order for the workshop to be viable we require six or more delegates to attend.
Course Content
- Environment – is an integral part of determining corrosion control and service life of carbon steel components. The four different environments covered will be Atmospheric, Soils (buried structures), Water and Concrete
- Forms of Corrosion
- Metallic Coatings (specifically hot dip galvanizing and service life performances in the environments discussed in the first module
- Case Studies – as the workshop conclusion, delegates will be required to analyse four case studies taken from actual field experiences. Information relating to the case study will be discussed from which deductions need to be made in order to establish the cause of the corrosion followed by recommended corrective actions.
