THE 2005 ESKOM HOT DIP GALVANIZING AWARDS
The Hot Dip Galvanizers Association of Southern Africa hosted the Eskom Hot Dip Galvanizing Awards Evening on Friday
the 19th August 2005 at The Castle in Kyalami. Eskom has sponsored this prestigious event since it's inception in 2000.
Industry leaders attended the evening with their guests. Muthu Murugan, comedian, TV and Radio Personality, was the Master
of Ceremonies and Brian Harvard provided musical entertainment.
Mr Gabriel Kgabo of Eskom opened the proceedings. It has been 6 years that Eskom has supported the Hot Dip Galvanizers Association of Southern Africa, primarily by sponsoring the event that recognizes the best hot dip galvanized project of the year. This relationship not only focuses on sponsorship, but also looks at joint project opportunities that could have mutual benefits to both hot dip galvanizers, in terms of improved process efficiencies and reduced operating costs, and Eskom as a business. The contribution of the hot dip galvanizing industry to Eskom business is notable and appreciated. 17 Submissions were received this year with all the categories being represented. According to Mr. Bob Wilmot, Executive Director of the Association, this is an extremely encouraging sign. Even more encouraging is the fact that the Association received 4 entries that were not submitted by member galvanizers. It is the objective of the Association to increase this figure in the future. The winners of the 2005 Eskom Hot Dip Galvanizing Awards are as follows (listed according to categories): |
